Message from the Directors, Faith in Society Ltd.
Welcome to our website. 2021 is the sixth year of Faith in Society’s work and we have been working on several exciting projects. Many of these involve supporting faith communities to deal with the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic, for instance by fundraising for food delivery and mental health projects to help those worst affected. We are supporting work that brings together Coventry’s diverse communities to regenerate the inner city and to contribute to the City of Culture. We have also secured a generous National Lottery Heritage Fund grant for a project to collect the oral histories of those who volunteered to help the Ugandan Asian refugees in 1971/2, and we are excited to be working with the Indian Overseas Trust on the delivery of the project. Our co-Director Warwick continues his close involvement with the Faiths Forum for London, supporting its strategy development, fund-raising and engagement with Black-majority Churches.
With this country facing so many challenges with the pandemic and post-Brexit, we feel there is even more need for faith communities and wider civil society to reach out to each other, both locally and nationally. Even small actions can demonstrate care and respect for others. Faith in Society will continue to support places of worship, public sector bodies and charities large and small in this crucial endeavour.

Very sorry to report the passing of Faith in Society Associate and former Jewish Volunteering Network director, Leonie Lewis MBE, early today. Leonie was a patient, friendly, kind hearted person who was loved by people of different faith traditions across London. A great loss.

It's wonderful to see @ShaileshVara MP supporting recommendations made to the Minister for Refugees at PMQs today. So many lessons to learn from the journey of Ugandan Asians in 1972 as Britain opens its doors to Ukrainian families fleeing war today.

With Warwick’s support, we were able to develop a number of projects and identify suitable funding. Warwick understood FODIP’s values and aims very well. His continued support enabled a successful funding application, which will allow us to continue our much-needed work. Warwick was splendid to work with.
Faith in Society has been an invaluable partner in a large AHRC project exploring how research on lived religion and lived belief can feed into better policy. Their extensive networks and practical experience at the highest level of national and local government have ensured that our consultations been both innovative and effective.
We are so grateful to Faith in Society for securing funding for our project. Warwick has also been able to link us to other groups and individuals who can help this work develop momentum. His advice and support has been invaluable.
I just wanted also to express my sincere and deep gratitude for Warwick’s efforts, help and support in organising the Celebration Barnet, Unity in the Community Festival, We could not have planned this success without your involvement.
Warwick assisted the charity in successfully securing several grants – all providing much-needed funds to help the UK Jewish community at large. Warwick’s help and guidance was immense and without him, we would have not secured the support. JBCS is enormously thankful for all his help.
